If you are suffering, find comfort in knowing that therapy can help. Therapy can be effective in reducing specific symptoms, like depression, anxiety, or addiction. Goals can extend beyond symptom reduction and include having more fulfilling relationships, making better use of your talents and abilities, building self esteem, finding healthy solutions to specific problems, and developing greater self-understanding, and life satisfaction. Therapy can help you live with a greater sense of freedom and possibility!
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Langone Medical Center, and I specialize in addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. I work with individuals, as well as couples. I am trained in multiple evidence based therapies, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), EMDR, harm reduction, and mindfulness-based approaches.
My approach to therapy is integrative and collaborative. I believe the past is alive in the present and that current symptoms are often linked to past experiences, relationships, or traumas. Therapy provides an opportunity to explore these connections, while learning skills and strategies to effectively cope with distress.
